toad in the whole, but with tomato and onion instead of toad

Oooh today was a shopping day with the girls. I bought:
1. linen skirt with blue and buff panels
2. Brown linen summer top
3. White vest
4. Turquoise and brown flock t-shirt
5. Red and pink brooch
6. Freshly squeezed orange juice
7. Two bottles of still water
8. Peach iced tea (salti arbata)
Very hot so moving slowly from shop to cafe to shop to cafe, am dozey tired and full now. M and B's shopping gods were not looking down on them so favourably.

Last night we danced our plimpsoles off at the electronic festival. Roni Size was excellent although he hasn't changed so much since I saw him in 1999. THe Dub techno was my second fabourite and then the interchangable DJs on the main stage who didn't move, just lent intently over their turntables. The event to which we had free tickets (thank you Rai) was in Kalnu Parkas at the top of the hill in outdoor bowls. The crowds were happy except for the letchy horribly boys who thought it was OK to put their hands around your waist or worse - I actually did hit a man, not hard, on the arm and yelled at him and his friend to leave me alone, how dare they. But the man disturbances did not detract from a fabulous night. At one point we Texted Rai to find him to say hi. He replied -you can see me- he was just above the stage with Virga and some folks. He invited us back, but as they weren't actually doing anything other than standing, we went to see the other stage instead. We got back around 3 and had a hot choc before bed.

Friday as a whole was superbusy and I had forgotten I had invited myself over to Steve's for burgers so when he asked -Pippi, where are you- I pelted it over on my bike. It was super relaxing there, basking under the tree in his garden and cycling back made me feel excited about being here again. Marie and I worked till 9.40 on the Mondriaan before going to the party with B and getting directions from soldiers. We lost the Latvian residency lady though, oh dear.

Thursday was supersuperbusy, lots of text editing and budget crunching. We had a staff meeting almost entirely in Lithuanian which M and B found difficult. Wenesday, we were Rai-less but got lots done. In the evening there was a talk by a Hungarian associate of my nemisis, but he didn't seem evil. He spoke on the topic of J-pop and Japanese teenage girls, I felt lucky that English is my mother tongue as hardly anyone could understand his accent. After Valentinas was funny in his abruptness and we three gossiped after I popped out for a quick HHH social. It was the director's birthday and he seemed happy in orange.
